use the most precise locality, neighbourhood, ward, harbour and venue name available;
distinguish Portsmouth from Gosport, Fareham, Havant, Hayling Island, Chichester, Southampton, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight;
distinguish Portsmouth Harbour from Portsmouth International Port, and the Historic Dockyard from the Royal Navy base;
check live information against official or first-party sources;
identify opinion, sponsored content, affiliate content and advertising clearly;
avoid unsupported rankings, stereotypes and claims about communities;
use first-hand experience only where it genuinely happened;
correct material errors promptly;
treat businesses, residents and contributors fairly.

We do not present every naval or military site as a public attraction, every place across the harbour as Portsmouth, or every Solent statistic as a Portsmouth statistic. We use precise terms such as Portsea Island, Southsea, The Hard, Old Portsmouth, Fratton, Cosham, Portsmouth Harbour and Portsmouth International Port when the distinction matters.
